Currently we offer training for people who’ve never rowed before, all the way up to people who’ve been rowing for years. Come and find us at the annual Fresher’s Fair, or email one of captains if you’re interested in hearing more about what we do.
Novice Boys – Charlie Ingram (Capt) email@example.com
The Novice Boy’s squad trains twice a week on the water (Wednesday and Sunday), and have two weekly ergs to complete in your own time. The novice year at boat club is truly unique – you bond with your squad mates and make friends for life whilst smashing races (and subsequently getting smashed together). If you’re interested in joining, drop me an email.
Novice Girls – Tegen Williams (Capt) firstname.lastname@example.org
The novice year at Boat Club is a completely unforgettable experience – learn to row and compete in a sport that you will come to love, enjoy our wide variety of social events and make friends for life.
The Novice Girl’s squad trains twice a week on the water (Wednesdays and Sundays), with set training on land on Monday and Friday (with an additional set session to do in your own time.
Senior Women – Ruth Bloxam (Capt) email@example.com
The Women’s squad aims to provide a fun rowing experience that is entirely driven by the goals of its rowers. So whether you’re looking to race competitively, have fun on the water or just get fit with friends – there’s sure to be a spot for you! Of course, the ICSMBC experience would be nothing without its vast and varied social calendar. The women’s squad is always a lively presence at the club’s weekly sports nights, post-race pub crawls and black tie dinners. We also organise our own nights out, pub lunches and pre-race carbo-loads/movie nights. If ICSMBC sounds like the place for you and you have rowed before do get in touch!
Senior Men – Lewis Rogers(Capt) firstname.lastname@example.org
The Men’s Squad at ICSM caters to a variety of rowing capabilities ranging from those joining after their Novice year, to the most seasoned school boy rowers. We compete in both the United Hospitals (UH) League and British Rowing events held on the Tideway. Our First VIII maintains competitive interests further afield with recent qualifications at Henley Royal Regatta in 2013 & 2014 whilst our Second VIII offers the means to enjoy quality rowing with a reduced training load. Both VIIIs take part in our action packed social events calendar.
A typical training week consists of 2x erg sessions, 2x weights sessions and 2x water sessions. Our training schedule is flexible around the demanding requirements of a medical degree allowing those on distant placements to make all training.
The current schedule is as follows: Monday – Own time Erg Tuesday – Weights 8pm ICBC Wednesday – Water 1-5pm ULBC Thursday – Ergs 8pm ICBC Friday – OFF Saturday – Water 12-4pm ULBC Sunday – Own time Weights
