Following a merger of St Mary’s with Charing Cross and Westminster Medical Schools in 1997, the hospital boat clubs came together under the banner of Imperial College School of Medicine Boat Club (ICSMBC). The club is now one of the largest sports club at the university, boasting over 120 members each year, with a comprehensive programme of rowing, socials and top quality academic support for its members.
Amongst the United Hospital (UH) rowing clubs, ICSM consistently comes up as one of the most competitive. Currently the club holds headship in the annual “UH Bumps”, and in recent years (2013 & 2014) has qualified crews for the Temple Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta.
Academically speaking, there is a fabulous range of opportunities for learning beyond the curriculum, as well as tutoring at all levels of the Medical School.
